As part of a bachelor’s thesis, NRU GmbH is conducting research together with the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) and Mr. Maurice Guthof on the influence of additive models on the ceramic shell in investment casting. The objective is to use all the advantages of additive manufacturing to produce high-quality prototypes and sample series for our customers in the shortest possible time. The flexibility of additive manufacturing enables us to react quickly to design changes and, on the basis of completely tool-free production, to produce a component in investment casting within a few days that already has near-series properties.

On 10 May 2016, a surveillance audit according to ISO 9001:2008 was carried out by TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH. All areas of the company were audited and evaluated. Particular attention was drawn to special features in the environment of pilot and small series production, as the quality requirements with regard to customer projects and requirements for near-series production are constantly increasing. Beginnend ab Oktober 2016 werden vier junge Wissenschaftler ihre akademischen Abschlussarbeiten bei der NRU GmbH erstellen. Die Abschlussarbeiten werden in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den jeweiligen Hochschulen, der Technischen Universität Chemnitz, der Technischen Universität Ilmenau und der Fachhochschule Zwickau, erstellt. Die Schwerpunkte der Themen liegen zum einen in der Wertstromanalyse und Optimierung des Fertigungsprozesses und zum anderen in der Standardisierung der Gießprozesse. Durch diese Extrakapazitäten in der kontinuierlichen Prozessverbesserung erhoffen wir uns starke Impulse und neue Lösungsansätze bestehender Prozessherausforderungen.
